San Pietro Windermere Restaurant

We have tried to book in here on a number of occasions but it has always been booked up so we booked quite a while ago. After our experience here we can fully understand why you need to book in advance! The Restaurant itself is really lovely inside with a really nice, rustic décor. The Team are very friendly & attentive and the food is gorgeous. I ordered Garlic Prawn starter & Mrs K ordered the dressed Goat's cheese with fig & pear and thoroughly enjoyed it. The Garlic Prawns were delicious with plenty of sauce to enjoy too My Mother & Father in Law both ordered the Fillet Steak and I enjoyed a beef dish from the specials, Mrs K ordered wild mushroom ravioli with a creamy wine garlic sauce. She said it was the best dish she has ever had which is quite some compliment given the amount of times we eat out. My beef was so tender I think I could have eaten it with a spoon and the gravy that came with it really complimented the dish. The steaks were great and the sides that accompanied it were sumptuous too We were all too full to even think of a dessert but we really enjoyed our dinners and we would definitely recommend this Restaurant to anyone! Remember book early to avoid disappointment!

The best Italian food we had in a while if not ever. Restaurant was located next to our B&B and we were very lucky to get a table without pre-booking. The food is amazing. Wonderful crisp yet soft focaccia bread, calamari rings that actually focused on the calamari and not the breading. The stars of the day were the seafood ravioli and the tiramisu. The ravioli had such a generous amount of filling, the pasta itself was like velvet and the sauce was perfectly balanced and seasoned. The tiramisu had the perfect ratio between mascarpone cream and biscuits drenched in coffee and liqueur (normally there is way too much mascarpone which makes it very heavy). Also San Pietro has the most elaborate menu for cocktails and the service is fast and super friendly.

I have dropped one star from service just because getting in touch with them to find out their menu etc was not easy. However, what a delight to eat there! A lovely building and the food was amongst the very best I have enjoyed anywhere. We both had starters and a main and we were both delighted with the quality of our food. We will come back the next time we are back in the lakes.

Fabulous restaurant staff were lovely from the moment of booking to eating and leaving. The menu is small but more than enough to choose from. The food was absolutely outstanding,I had the lamb and my partner pork belly 😋 both just melted in your mouth. Definitely recommend this place.. Only thing I could say was I was cold didn't feel very warm in the restaurant.
